Rules
Discord Rules
Must be over 18 years old
Respect each other, be friendly
No trolling, racism, sexism, or spamming
No advertising other servers in any manner. This includes but not limited to poaching, or attempted poaching of other players to other communities.
Do not DM staff without proof permission. Server issues/communication can go through tickets.
No streaming in any occurrence. Anyone caught will be banned from the server (Why? Far too easy for others to metagame and near impossible for staff to track)
Anything in the META section of discord is to be considered META information and not known to the character until the appropriate amount of RP has happened.
Discord IN CHARACTER Channels
#clan-advertisements
#noticeboard
We have established an in-character advert/noticeboard channel for you to share your endeavors, trade opportunities, and announcements. To maintain the immersive experience, we request that all communications within this channel be conducted in character, as if your message is a public notice delivered and seen by individuals to the East or West.
In-Character Communication: All messages in this channel must be presented in character. Engage with the inhabitants of our world, assuming that your words are carried by messengers or posted for all to see in the current traders' hub.
Public Information: Be mindful that the content you share is public knowledge within the game. Choose your words wisely, as everyone in the game is made aware of the messages posted on this noticeboard.
Anti-Spam Measures: Avoid flooding the channel with repetitive advertisements. Let the diverse voices of the realm be heard, and respect the variety of messages shared.
Ad Removal: Once your advertisement has served its purpose or is no longer relevant, kindly remove it. This keeps the noticeboard updated and relevant for all players.
Anonymous Posting: If you wish to remain anonymous for a post, you may approach a Staff member and request them to post on your behalf. The Staff will omit your name to maintain the integrity of in-game immersion.
Base Game/RP Rules
It is every player's responsibility to adhere to and uphold the rules on this server. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse.
18+ characters only. No underage RP. No pregnancy and childbirth RP
Alternate characters are NOT allowed
Players must have an approved character in order to play on the server, no one can bypass this system
Players must remain IC at all times. Please favor roleplay with others over farming
Players may not drastically alter their character appearance after being approved in the application process. Those caught breaking this rule will have their character deleted and required to reroll, an exception to this is clear RP being established for the change.
LORE CHANNELS are not considered IC knowledge to anyone but the characters that are related to it via their concept. Example: Southern characters should know little to nothing about northern cultures and behavior.
Grey's Law: You can do whatever you want, but there will be realistic consequences, up to and including your character's violent death. Losing is an important part of character development and much like the real world not everyone is perfect. Allow your character to lose every once in a while, let them experience hardship. It’s not only more fun to write, but it helps your character grow.
Avoid Godmoding and Metagaming to the best of your ability. We are aware that there are some times that metagaming happens accidentally. Someone misremembers something that was told to them ICly, or knows a name they weren’t actually told. That isn’t what I’m talking about here. What I mean is anything that is on purpose specifically for the benefit of yourself or others. All information posted on discord unless within our IN Character Channels or during an event posted by Staff is considered Out of Character information, therefore being meta information.
Consent is key. Make sure you communicate with whomever you’re writing with that everyone is okay with a more difficult scene. The general rule of thumb for what should be questioned before hand is any sort of sexual scene and torture. While these scenes will still happen - the option to Fade to Black is always there and should be used whenever someone is feeling uncomfortable with what may be happening in a scene. Scenes of graphic nature (erp, results of pvp, torture) may Fade to Black at any player’s request and all players must abide by it. FTB does not mean that the scene did not happen. If you choose to FTB a scene in which your character’s tongue is removed, the FTB does not stop the tongue from being removed.
Character Creation Rules
We have level and starter kits availiable right at character creation! Type /kit into the chat box to access them
Don't forget to create a clan for your character, ESPECIALLY before building. This helps the staff help you.
Please keep the bodies of your characters at realistic proportions. Most of the sliders have been limited to prevent some of the more fetishized and unrealistic bodies that the internet has ruined people with, but in the off chance that we happen to miss something you may be asked to adjust the proportions of your character.
Do not adjust the hand size of your character. This will adjust the reach of your weapons and can be considered an unfair advantage.
Do not make your character's height outside of what's listed in the race without a backstory related reason. We are aware that there is always a chance that someone can be taller or shorter than the heights listed, but we would like a backstory reason for it.
Most if not all of the "classes" listed in the cults/guilds/orders are limited slot characters. That means that there is a limited number of these characters permitted on the server at any point. These "classes" gain special bonuses in Roleplay Redux and must be limited to prevent an unbalance. Submitting a limited slot character does not mean you are guaranteed to be able to play that type of character, but we will do our best to approve those that do come to us provided we don't get too many in one go. There is also the opportunity to become one of these limited slot classes through roleplay as well.
Sorcery is regulated on the server, and therefore the average player will not be able to access the location where one could normally learn sorcery. One IS able to gain or learn sorcery later through RP however.
Players are expected to adhere to the cultural limitations outlined in cultural-weapons-and-mounts if seen breaking this rule you may be asked to adjust accordingly.
The main language on the server is English. When creating and designing your character, it is important to remember this - while it is okay to sprinkle in other languages into your RP, you want to make sure that the people you're writing with can understand what you're trying to get across. The bracelets are universal translators.
The Exiled Lands are a unique location in the Hyborian World that acts as a magical trap. The nature of the curse walls keeps the magic inside, which in turn attracts more. The amount of strange and unknown creatures native to the Exiled Lands, such as rocknoses or rotbranch, are either unknown or uncommon in Hyboria outside of folklore and ghost stories. The supernatural should be treated with fear of the unknown until ample time in the lands have allowed the character to become accustomed to its quirks, or detailed in the character backstory as to how and why something unfathomable would be treated with nonchalance.
Building Rules
Don't build in dungeons without permission beforehand.
Don't build in Razma's house or the island that's the exit for the Jhebbal Sag dungeon.
Don't build in render range of others. Rule of thumb is half a square but ask a member of staff if you are unsure.
Only one altar per clan, and it can only be for deities that the clan worships.
Keep bases realistic looking. Staff will ask you make changes if not done so
Building components, such as placeable decorations, are constrained by the count of player characters in a clan. The cap on the sum of building components and placeables doesn't constitute an obligatory achievement; rather, it provides players with greater artistic license to construct bases conducive to roleplay. It's important to note that if a base leads to significant lag for other players, its creators might be requested to reduce its size. Thus, responsible building is encouraged.
One - 750 Build Pieces
Two - 1100 Build Pieces
Three - 1300 Build Pieces
Four - 1500 Build Pieces

A maximum of 10 players are allowed per clan.
NO sister clans are permitted.
Invite players to your clan at your own risk. If they choose to betray you and steal things, it's your own fault.
All players even if alone need to be in a clan at all times.

One - 4 Followers
Two - 5 Followers
Three - 6 Followers
Four - 7 Followers
Five - 8 Followers
Six - 9 Followers

Eight - 11 Followers
Nine - 12 Followers

PvP Rules
Religious Weapons can only be made by Forge Masters who follow that specific religion.
When declaring <PvP Intent> it must be done via /shout. Everyone in range of a <PvP Intent> is immediately locked into combat. There is no immediate <PvP Intent> dropping allowed. There must be roleplay and emotes beforehand to begin the route of hostility.
Players MAY NOT move during <PVP Intent> declarations. PvP intents must be accompanied by a thorough emote (1-liners are not appropriate) before combat drops.
PvP scenes are immediately <Scene locked> until combat is over/winner is determined/forfeit. This means no one can leave and everything that happens outside of the current RP scenario must be ignored.
PvP - Combat
All players who are tagged with "In Combat" after a "PvP Intent" is dropped, must reply with either:
<PvP Accept>
<PvP Join>
<PvP - Surrender>
<PvP - Flee>
<PvP - Observe>
<PVP - Surrender> will require no roll as you allow your character to be taken into captivity. The opposing side will not require to use the “Retrain/Bind Ability” however must use the “Search” in case you are attempting to conceal a hidden weapon for your escape. The following Captivity Rules can be read under: slavery-and-capture .
<PVP - Flee> will automatically roll Escape Artist againsts opponents Dexterity. If they are successful against everyone, they may leave the scene unharmed and no pursuit can be made by the opposing side. If they fail, they must either <PvP Accept> or <PvP Surrender>.
<PvP - Observe> will not choose sides and cannot interfere in the PVP event. They are to stay at a safe distance to avoid being attacked by either side by mistake.
End of PvP
The victors on the scene have several options to choose from towards what to do with the defeated foes.
Here’s a list of a few options: ALWAYS COMMUNICATE WITH THE VICTIM BEFORE HANDING OUT SEVERE PUNISHMENT. IF NOTHING CAN BE AGREED UPON, OPEN A TICKET WITH GMs.
Enslave/Captivity: Must follow all rules listed in the appropriate section: slavery-and-capture .
Hand of Fate: This works as a 50-50% chance towards the victim's survival. This allows the victim a second chance at life as they manage to remain in the realm of the living for a little longer. However they will not all escape unscathed as an automatic roll will be done using RR to decide the severity of their injury. Victors MUST assume that the victim has perished and will RP it in that manner. This option is preferred in comparison to Perma-Death in most cases, as it allows the continuation of RP to happen.
Perma - Death: This works as a guarantee to kill a target. This ability CANNOT be used on first confrontation/PVP nor should it be used frequently. Abuse of this ability will result in severe consequences. This ability is frowned upon in comparison to Hand of Fate, as it will discontinue any future RP with such character. Please have a valid reason to use this ability. If this option is chosen, please open a ticket and report the death of the character.
Raiding and Sieges Rules
Respect and sportsmanship are crucial. OOC (Out of Character) respect should be maintained even during intense in-game conflicts.
The staff reserve the right to deny or cancel raids at their discretion and at any point in time. This decision may be based on various factors, including but not limited to rule violations, fairness concerns, or unforeseen circumstances.
Any violations of this and the following rules may result in penalties or disciplinary actions as decided by the staff.
Raids should have a narrative behind them. Both the attacking and defending clans must establish a background story that fuels the conflict. This could involve territorial disputes, resource competition, or ideological differences. Roleplay elements are encouraged to enhance the immersive experience.
Any clan planning a raid must inform the staff in advance. A detailed raid application, outlining the reason for the raid and proposed date/time, needs to be submitted for approval. Staff will mediate and approve the raid based on validity and fairness.
Once the raid application is approved, a scheduled date will be arranged, accommodating both the attacking and defending sides. The defending side must be online and prepared to initiate the raid at the agreed-upon time.
All PvP rules and guidelines must be followed strictly during the raid. No exceptions or deviations from the established PvP rules are permitted.
Declining raids without valid reasons is not allowed. Deliberate stalling to avoid raids will result in staff intervention to set a definite time and date for the raid whether active or not.
The raid concludes when one side (attackers or defenders) is entirely defeated. If the attackers emerge victorious, they have the freedom to pillage or alter the defending base/home within the game mechanics. If the defenders successfully repel the attack, normal PvP rules apply for any ensuing battles.
Raiding - Reinforcements and Allied Forces
Defenders:
During a raid, defenders have the option to call upon mercenaries, denoted as Thrall Banners, not exceeding 3 in number (totaling 12 thralls). All details concerning the forces employed must receive prior approval from Staff.
Making alterations or adjustments to your base during the course of a raid is strictly forbidden. Any changes to the base layout, defenses, or structures mid-raid are prohibited.
Any necessary defensive modifications or enhancements to the base must be completed before the scheduled raid time. This ensures that all defensive measures are in place and finalized prior to the agreed-upon commencement of the raid.
Attackers:
Similarly, attackers are permitted temporary additions to their thrall count, instead of Thrall Banners, for the duration of the raid, to be determined by Staff. Any surplus thralls exceeding the clan's standard limit will be removed after the battle. Allied clans may also be called upon to aid in the battle. However, just as with defenders, all forces slated for use must obtain explicit Staff Approval before the raid commences.
Important Notes:
The opposing side will not be informed about the composition of forces on each side, as the Staff will manage and oversee both factions accordingly.
Any attempt to spawn additional troops or introduce an unannounced ally into the battle without prior Staff notification will result in appropriate penalties as determined by the rules.
Raiding represents a form of conflict akin to war within the Exiled Lands. Fairness might not always define the situation. Consequences, including facing raids from multiple clans due to contentious behavior, are outcomes that can arise. Staff endeavors to maintain fairness during raids, but outcomes might not always align with a perfectly balanced encounter.
It's essential to keep in mind that, ultimately, the server is meant for enjoyment and RP . While conflicts like raids add excitement, the primary goal is to have fun and engage in an entertaining gaming experience. Flexibility in embracing diverse outcomes, even if they don't align with individual plans, enhances the adaptability within the game. It encourages players to explore different strategies and approaches, fostering a more engaging gaming environment.
Thievery Rules
Breaking and entering into someone's home only for the purpose of stealing from them is permitted with the use of the appropriate skills (crowbar/thieves tools). Blowing someone's door off with explosives just to steal, or otherwise destroying property, is not permitted under "thievery" and is considered a raid. See Raid rules for more information. When taking items from a home during a theft, the following considerations must be taken:
Thralls active in the working slot of a bench cannot be stolen off benches. If a thrall is found in a chest, only one can be taken per person involved in the thievery.
The amount of items stolen must be reasonable for one person to actually carry off, regardless of the endless pockets your character may have.
One armor piece, one weapon, one tool (or any combination of those three, but three max)
One stack of items not to exceed 500
A POI/Note must be left that would give the player being robbed some sort of roleplay trail to follow. Adding in additional skill check clues is highly encouraged.
If a thrall attacks you while you are attempting to steal/break into a player's base, you are considered "caught" and must flee.
Take screenshots of what you take and where it was taken from in case it ever comes up later. This protects you and the other player.
If a thief wants to steal a placed item they must screenshot the roleplay of them stealing it and send it to a member of staff to gain the item.
Any followers (Horse, Thrall, Pet) that are stolen must result in the screenshots of the theft being sent in a ticket to Forgemaster.
The thieves and by extension their clan(s) are not allowed to steal from the same victim more than once in any 24 hour period to allow for roleplay
Players cannot attack their old base on a new character without in depth roleplay with the clan and at least 5 OOC days of active roleplay
Slavery and Captives Rules
The act of enslaving or capturing a player character should always arise from roleplay and/or player versus player interactions.
Those who capture others bear an out-of-character responsibility and a primary commitment to engage in roleplay with their captives.
While consent is not mandatory for capturing someone, both the captor and the captives should aim to collaborate in crafting a narrative out of the situation.
Captives should not refuse or avoid in-character torture or other violent actions if the captor introduces such elements ( Captors MUST warn the player before drastic measures are taken, a captives reserve the right to Fade to Black at ANY moment if uncomfortable).
Captors are not obligated to spend all their time with their captives. However, if captives are left without roleplay due to the captor's negligence for more than 24 hours, they can request an in-game escape via a ticket to the admins.
Captives must promptly leave their current clan and avoid discussing their capture in metagame chat with other clan members.
Captives who possess lockpicking or breaching skills and have not been searched may attempt to use these abilities to escape if the clan that enslaved them is online.
In the event that either the captive or the captor does not enjoy the roleplay dynamic, there are alternative options available. Captives can request to be sold after 12 hours of roleplay in captivity. This time frame allows for the possibility of two roleplay scenes to gauge the dynamic. If a sale is requested, the captor must expeditiously sell the captive either to the Slavers Guild or to another slaver in a different clan; the captive does not have a choice in this matter. If the captive seeks another sale after 12 hours, they will be sold to the Slaver Guild's market.
Captors have the discretion to sell player character slaves to anyone at any time. Slaves are considered property, and this aspect should be managed accordingly.
Sorcery and Magic Rules
In-game and sorcery added by various mods are limited to those characters that have been granted a limited sorcerer or supernatural slot. The basic game sorcery abilities are hidden and unable to be gained without staff intervention.
Magic and sorcerous abilities will be given and awarded to sorcerers depending on their backstory. The server will custom make abilities through Roleplay Redux that flow in line with the abilities that the sorcerer has laid out in their character apps.
Magical abilities WILL be limited to what you write in your backstory. If you write that your character studied or focused on magic that protects them, you can not then say your character is an expert at magic that harms others.
All T3 altars must be completed through ritual. Any sufficiently religious person can petition their deity to upgrade their altar to the final stage, but this can only be done through a ritual.
Rituals
Rituals are large scale attempts at magic or appealing to a higher being. A sorcerer is not the only person who can complete a ritual and it is encouraged that should someone wish to attempt something that might count as one they open a ticket and speak with staff.
Rituals are fairly complex things and every ritual will be different depending on who and what is wished to be accomplished. The steps for completing a ritual, however, are simple.
How to Complete a Ritual:
Open a ticket with a Smith
Let the ritualists know what you hope to accomplish with this ritual
You and the ritualist will discuss what needs to be done to get the goal needed
Once everything is completed game wise, the person wanting to complete the ritual lets those in the ticket know that the prerequisites are completed.
From there, the staff will work with the player to ask if they would like the ritual DMed or if they would like to RP out completing the ritual and just want the outcome afterward.
If it’s chosen that just the outcome is wanted, then the Ritualist will give the player the outcome of their attempts. If a DMed event happens, then the player has the option of interacting with whatever larger being they are attempting to gain favor with.
With the outcome solidified, it is then up to the player if they would like a server-wide event to be announced after this is completed.
